Shailesh Das
A veteran of the MENA alternative investments sector, Shailesh has over 28 years of alternative investment experience. He is a well-known entrepreneur and has founded various financial services companies aimed at promoting ethical and socially responsible investments in the Middle East & South East Asia region across various industries such as healthcare, education, logistics and financial services.
He is the Founder of Regulus Capital Limited (RCL), a management consultancy and advisory firm providing services to small and medium-sized companies operating in consumer-driven sectors. He has also founded cutting edge education companies like New Age Learning, Viva Coder and SD Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence (sdcee.ae). Throughout his 28+ years of investment and entrepreneurial career, he has executed more than 150 transaction of over $1.7billion, raised in excess of $2.5bn from investors, managed a cumulative $6bn of AUMs and served on more than 15 boards of prominent private companies. He has been the entrepreneurial source for identifying business opportunities, turnaround strategies and securing lucrative investments. Shailesh has received several awards that are a testimony of his achievements and work attitude including Top 100 Influential People in Dubai 2016-2017 by Arabian Business and Top 100 Leaders in the Arab World 2016, 2017 & 2018 by Forbes Magazine. In the past few years, Shailesh has been heavily working on all his ventures to set new regional standards for community service, corporate governance and socially responsible investments. He has been featured on various articles for philanthropy, ethical investments and serving the community. He is also a columnist for Khaleej Times and Gulf Business and contributes regularly on various economic and capital market events.
